Chinese people dislike to separate payment when they go to the restaurant. Chinese like pay all of the bill and check out generously. Separate payment is the stingy behavior in China, especially man and woman
together goes to restaurant, must man pay the bill.
The point can be used in Chinese low-budget comedy film to produce conflict of story, and satiric characteristic, which can make the film funnier or interesting.
Like the situation comedy <Diors Man>, the man invites a girl to dinner, when they need pay the bill, the man suddenly shock, so the girl has to pay. This plot can make funnier, because the man's behavior does not abide Chinese eating convention, so he makes satiric character. Thus, the comedy film will make funnier from Chinese eating character.

Like <Diors Man>, two men have a dinner in restaurant. They both scrammed for paying the bill but they both do not take out the money. One man run, another man asked waiter to pursue that man.

So I wrote a plot according to the Chinese eating character in the <flat story>. As for Jack, he is not a rich guy, but he have to pay the bill when his girlfriend force him go to restaurant.
